About Poison Apples

Poison Apples is the solo acoustic guitar based music of Danielle Searby. Hailing from Adelaide, Australia Poison Apples brings together a variety of influences, opinions, theories and other discreditable junk to create a minimalist, guitar and vocal based sound. A lover of minimalism, Danielle has preferred to record most of her music to a four track recorder. However, many recordings have also been done simply live to one track.

Poison Apples primary influences vary greatly. However, Nirvana and particularly the guitar and lyrical work of Kurt Cobain have been a long time influence. Many other notable artists who have influenced the music of Poison Apples include The White Stripes, Silver Jews, Richard Buckner, Hole, Pixies, Breeders, folk music, almost all late 80’s to early 90’s indie rock bands, Billy Bragg, Wagons and punk rock. Poison Apples is depressive, moody, out of tune indie folk rock.
