Due to confirmation of having achieved a global conventional crude oil production peak during the final quarter of 2008, the author has considered the purpose and availability of the Hydrocarbon Universe peak oil awareness web site and strongly
believes that it has served its purpose well since first published in 2005. With the primary goal no longer deemed pertinent with respect to the predetermined events and awareness initiatives leading up to global peak oil, this web site is currently under redevelopment and will soon support
the transitional perspectives of global crude oil production decline including the necessary aspects of economic transformation that will no doubt be governed by the collective sciences encompassing alternative energy and the general practices and methods of self sufficiency.
