Pinky

The Pinky bar is the only chocolate bar I've truly been obsessed with. Obsessed enough to purchase a six dollar foil wig from the supermarket (‘Punk Mylar Wig') and photograph myself as if I was making my own ad campaign. I cannot deny the fact that it did cross my mind - being chosen as the official face of the Pinky. I pictured the television advertisement being filmed, me in the mylar wig under spotlights, an industrious bundle of technicians, my crate load of Pinky bars at home, as payment for my services.
The Pinky bar initially attracted me with it's name. ‘Pinky' is the name I give to pit bull terriers, referring to their pinkish white muzzles and ears. From this it has come the word I use to describe any creature with fur so white that the pink of the skin can be seen underneath. How this links to enjoying a chocolate bar to the point of obsession may not seem clear, but I shall attempt to make a flow chart to explain.
Despite derision of everyone, Vanessa thinks pit bull terriers are quite cute, because of their whitey-pinkness
-------> The name ‘Pinky' emerges, in order to make the animal sound more endearing. ‘Pinky' sounds far friendlier than ‘Pit Bull'
------> Vanessa enjoys using the word ‘Pinky' so much that she often says it when it is not really necessary or appropriate
-------> Thus a chocolate bar called ‘Pinky' is an exciting discovery -------> the Pinky bar turns out to be sickeningly sweet, and Vanessa is in a phase in which she develops an extreme sweet tooth.
The Pinky photo shoot has all the characteristics of a home alone artistic endeavour - strange towers of books and boxes on which the camera is perched, in order to take timer photographs, the delightful fear of maybe being discovered pursuing a strange activity; slumped against a pink wall, wearing all pink, photographing myself.
A few weeks after the initial Pinky was discovered, my source ran out. They were only for sale at a small nearby supermarket, and once I had exhausted their supply, I could find nowhere else. To be honest I didn't look to hard. The combination of pink marshmallow, chocolate and caramel was sweetly exciting at first, but it became more difficult to eat a whole bar in one go, my teeth would ache, and I would feel waning of my obsession.
