Remarks
A panoramic view of a stunning stand of gum trees beside the road on the way into Terrace Falls near Hazelbrook in the Blue Mountains.
I visualised this image as a wide panoramic vista and composed accordingly on the ground glass of my 4x5 view camera. The top and bottom of the image are cropped at the printing stage leaving this nicely balanced panorama. I like the way the tree on the left hand side of the composition balances the gravel road on the right.
The negative was given extended development to lift the value of the two central tree trunks and help separate them from the background foliage.
I feel this is one of the more successful of my recent images.
